BENEFITS OF EMU OIL

As cosmetic and personal companies begin to incorporate emu oil into their products, people are quickly discovering how beneficial this natural oil is.  They are observing that it improves the quality of products they normally use.  It adds luxury to all sorts of body care products that range from handcrafted soaps to hair care and face moisturizer.

According to the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, the emu was first brought into the United States in the 1930’s.  The first uses of emu oil in the United States are unknown; however, cosmetic and personal care products companies are discovering that it can be used in a variety of products.  The vast range of potential uses extend from topical skin treatments to lotions, soaps, creams, hair shampoos and conditioners.  Handcrafted soap makers prize the ingredient because the high fat content creates a rich lather in addition to the wonderful moisturizing properties.  Because the oil absorbs fragrance so well, consumers can revel in the luxury they get from cleansing and moisturizing ingredients of personal and body care products containing emu oil.

Gentle Oil Has Many Benefits

In the cosmetic and personal care products industry, emu oil skin benefits are significant enough to make Mark Potter, a chemist at Donna Karan Beauty Company praise the oil, stating that “emu oil is emerging as the world’s next cosmetic rage.”  He went on to add that “I think it will be another aloe vera.”  Potter made these remarks in a Vogue Magazine article in the September 1999 issue of the magazine.  He also noted that it’s the ideal oil.  It is also worth mentioning that the Donna Karan Beauty Company was the first American company to make the oil an ingredient in commercial beauty products.
